Submission Wrestling

Submission wrestling is a dynamic form of sport grappling which allows a great deal of interstyle competition. The rules of this sport allow any form of throwing or submission technique, with the exception of biting, gouging or striking of any kind. Submission techniques may include any type of joint lock, chokes and strangulation techniques. There are no weight categories and bouts can last up to 30 minutes.

Whilst competitions and training takes place under these rules across the globe, submission wrestling is most often linked with the Catch-as-catch-can wrestling schools formerly dominant in Europe, especially England.
